Explore the National Capital region during Winterlude, the largest
winter festival in North America!
8:30am: Camp Fortune. Open year-round. In winter, this
is one the best places in the region to go skiing or snowboarding. It
is also possible to enjoy
snowshoeing and cross-country skiing on its many trails.
Noon: Lunch
2pm: Laflèche Adventure (30 minutes from downtown).
Open year-round, this is the largest natural cave in the Canadian Shield.
In winter, this site is magical
thanks to gigantic ice stalactites and stalagmites.
4pm: Go ice-skating in a group on the longest ice rink
in the world (the Rideau Canal) and admire sparkling ice and snow sculptures.
5:30pm: Back to the hotel.
7:00pm: Dinner at Ferme Rouge. Located 20 minutes away from downtown
and 15 minutes from the Casino du Lac-Leamy, this 535-seat restaurant
showcases some 20 artists performing music, song and dance numbers every
night.
